Journey to the Fatherless opened my eyes and my heart to the vulnerable child! It is a great book for everyone who has any interest in providing foster care, adopting or providing for a vulnerable child. Mostly, I found that this book can be applied to our everyday walk and committment to Christ. It is a great tool for the Church to use for small group studies as it engages each of us and the Church in caring for the fatherless! The author did a great job at helping me realize how I can be a part of God's great plan for caring for the orphan!

I have read Journey to the Fatherless and highly recommend it for anyone adopting or providing foster care. It is also great for church orphan care ministries to use as a study. Especially great for orphan care ministries that are just beginning but has great ideas for expanding ministries. Every church needs this book in their library. It changed me! God has used this book to show me my call to the vulnerable child.

I read it thanks to your recommendation.....one of many in this genre. It was so intense and raw. I too appreciated the transparency she expressed. She also was able to verbalize the disconnect when going back and forth between cultures....that is wearing and sometimes surreal. I appreciated your recommendation of the book and was also unable to put it down. It is a hard book to communicate with others about....not for the faint of heart. Her walk with Christ through it all was challenging to me.
